The castle is closed for renovation as of March 2025, but don't let that deter you. The museum has an amazing collection of historical pieces beautifully arranged. There were tea pots dating back hundreds of years!
The time, effort, and quality put into the dioramas is evident.
Don't forget to stop by the cafe and sign up for the dungeon tour.
It was an afternoon we'll spent!

Norwich Castle is a really old and awesome building in the middle of Norwich! It's like a giant stone box that's been there for hundreds of years. First, it was a fort to protect the city, then it was a royal home, and now it's a museum. You can go inside and see cool things like old weapons and amazing art. It's like taking a trip back in time to when knights and kings lived!

Unfortunately the castle was closed for a refurb, but the museum, etc was fantastic.

Don't bother...
Very disappointed to come all the way from London to see the castle closed and very little on the website flagging this. Paid £27 for our family to look a rows of stuffed dead animals. Extremely disappointed.

A very disappointing visit. There are lots of staff standing around and willing to help but not all the interactive experiences work. The castle is still under renovation, which I understand is reflected in the reduced entry fee. The children did not have enough to do within each area to keep them entertained. I hope it will be better once the renovation is over but it is very tired at the moment!

Full of local history and my own family history. Proud to be descended from the Ketts whose story will forever be linked to the castle.

It is still under construction. We went to the Tate exhibition, which seemed to miss many of his most important works. We will return for another exhibition and to see the Keep when it is finished. A documentary about the Castle renovation project is coming soon.

A lovely place to visit. The art galleries alone are worth the entry fee. When the castle reopens soon it will be even better. So much to see for all ages.

Even though parts were closed, there was still plenty to see. The Iceni/Roman exhibition was particularly good. Very friendly staff.

Spent a good few hours here looking at the art and animals. Fun for all ages ( as long as you like museums/galleries). Worth the money for the experience.

Castle was closed due to refurbishment however museums were visitable. 5 yr refurbishment should look good.
